Father's Day Grilling

I used the new Simon Says Stamp Mom and Dad Icons stamps and dies sets to make a Father's Day card for the grillin' guy...
So many of the cute images in this set of stamps and dies fit PERFECTLY into the center of the "MOM" or "DAD" sentiments...so I decided to use the grill as the "A" in the "DAD"!  I stamped, die cut, then colored with prismacolor markers.  I layered all of the die cuts, then added to a sentiment stamped patterned paper panel.  Here's a close up...
I'm out of town helping my daughter and son-in-law move into their new home, and won't be back until some time in May, and will a bit late to post a card with this idea, but had a thought of how cute it would be to make a card with the sentiment "MOMMA" on it...combining an extra "M" and the "A" from the "DAD"!  My girls call me momma and I would LOVE to get a card with that on it:)!!  Let me know if YOU make one:)!!  Oh, I love this set...so much fun!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Happy Mother's Day for a New Mom

I decided to make a Mother's Day card for a new mom...or even a new mom-to-be...
I used the new Simon Says Stamp Big Mom die to make a sentiment on blocks.  I die cut then layered the letters.  The patterned paper is from Hobby Lobby.  The woodgrained paper is from Simon Says Stamp(linked below) and stained.  I used some burlap and embossed it onto the card, to give my natural colored card a bit of texture...sort of like a piece of baby's clothes.  Rounded the corners of the woodgrained blocks that I cut square with my paper cutter.  I added a sentiment from an older Mother's Day stamp set from Simon.  Here's a close up...
Another cool thought, you could get the Big Dad dies (linked below, also) using the "A" from "DAD", and make a card with the word "MOMMA" on a bit of a longer card...love being called "momma" by my girls...even at 25 and 27 years old and married!!  I'm presently away, helping my oldest move into her new home, otherwise, I'd make it...so for now, it will just have to remain a thought:)!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Another Oval of Flowers

I had another idea for the pretty Simon Says Stamp Oval of Flowers die...to make the oval shape into a rectangle!...
I cut the die onto my cardstock, then die cut it some more around the four curved edges on the cardstock, to give the die cut some more flowers and dots fit
for a rectangular frame.  Here are some pics of what I did...
I die cut the oval in first pic.  I die cut the big flowers on two of the curves(notice, I almost hate to admit, they're not perfect...but cool... no worries...it's OK:)!!)
Then...die cut the other two curves, and then what it looks like in the frame...no bare spots of the oval curves showing through a rectangular frame:)!
Here's a close up, after filled in with trio colored shades of paint chips...
FUN...SO MUCH FUN!!  Hope you are having a sensational Sunday!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Oval Framed Oval of Flowers

I made a card for Easter with the Simon Says Stamp die, Oval of Flowers, as the die DOES look kind of like an Easter egg.  I thought...hmmm...would it still look like an easter egg if I framed the die cut??...well...
I layered this die cut, like the card on Easter, from underneath, and used a Spellbinders oval die cut for the frame.  I don't own a stitched oval die, but DID think it looked a little too plain with just the die cut, so I took a .03 thickness Zig marker, and drew my stitched lines around the oval, using the actual die as my guide.  I used some Doodlebug patterned paper to fill in the flowers, leaves and dots, and a Simon sentiment stamp.  Here's a close up...
I've still got ideas for this die...stay tuned:)!!...Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Daisy Mother's Day Card

I used a new stamp and die from the new Simon Says Stamp release, Mothers, Fathers and Florals, to make a Mother's Day card...
I stamped and masked and stamped the daisies from the More Spring Flowers set onto a white card panel...
I clear embossed and colored with Prismacolor markers.  I used the new Big Mom die from Simon and cut out the "MOM" from those flowers, stacked, then adhered them back into the die cut spaces...hmmm...yes...the first "M" is a little camouflaged, but it shows a bit better from an "off" angle...
I added a straight striped stamped bottom panel from the Diagonal Stripes Simon stamp, along with some twine and some tiny black stickey dots.
Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

A Golf Ball Filled Birthday Card

I made a birthday card filled with golf balls for a golf lover...
I stamped the golf ball stamp a dozen times with versamark and white embossed.  I used a 1" punch and punched out the golf balls along with 3 layers of white cardstock for each.  I used a Papertrey Ink sentiment and used my t-ruler to make certain my rows were straight.  Here's a close up...
I added a computer generated sentiment on the inside...
